The text structure must be established first

In IELTS and TOEFL writing exercises, the student's first need is usually to establish a clear structure, not more complex words. Unless the introduction, main idea, supporting example and conclusion sections are established correctly, the score increase will be limited no matter how long the article is.

Feedback is as important as the article itself

If the student writes an essay every week but repeats the same mistakes, it means that the process is not progressing efficiently. Feedback for writing improvement should be specific: is the argument weak, is the paragraph flow disjointed, is the grammatical error repetitive, is the word choice academic?

  • 2-3 main development points should be selected after each article.
  • The student should not move on to the new text without making revisions.
  • Mistakes should become a personal checklist.
  • Timed writing practice should be increased as the exam approaches.

Vocabulary study should be done in context

Academic vocabulary does not develop by memorizing lists alone. The student should use the word in a sentence, learn to express the same idea at different levels, and avoid unnecessary complexity. In exam writing, clarity is often more valuable than embellishment.

Score target determines training style

The study priority of the student aiming for Band 6.0 and the student aiming for Band 7.5 is not the same. While structure and basic accuracy come to the fore in the first one, argument depth, language diversity and error checking become more decisive at higher goals.
